bio

Geshe Lhundrup Sopa is holder of the Lharampa (with highest honors) Geshe degree from Sera Monastery. In 1962, he came to the United States and was invited to teach at the University of Wisconsin in Madison in 1967. A full professor in the South Asian Studies Department until his recent retirement, Geshe-la founded Evam Buddhist Monastery and Deer Park Buddhist Center and is one of the foremost scholars and masters of Tibetan Buddhism living in the world today.
