overview

"This is the very first time His Holiness will be teaching on this topic. The fact that he has chosen this topic is a very important sign for Florida, the United States and the world in support of World Peace. This is a very important teaching because it is the only one Padmasambhava, an emanation of Avalokitéshvara and a representative of the Buddha, wrote in his lifetime. He wrote just one text in support of all world cultures, religions and races. His instruction teaches personal freedom from suffering and support for World Peace. He doesn’t want to divide people on the grounds of religion, culture or race. There is one religion - World Peace. There is one culture – the culture of the human race, regardless of dress or clothing. While all cultures may have dress which appears different, it is all for the same purpose: protection of the body. Even if you enjoy the differences found across humankind, you need to support World Peace - otherwise none of us are safe. We are all of the same race – we all are human beings, regardless of color geographical locations or countries of origin – our differences are not what’s important, it’s what we have in common that’s important.

Padmasambhava wrote only this text in his entire lifetime, and expressly for the purpose of World Peace. The reason His Holiness chose this topic to teach in Miami is because people have different capacities and different inherent states of mind - so he will teach nine levels to accommodate the different capacities and emotional states of mind of the people attending the teachings.

His Holiness’ instruction to us is how to generate World Peace and free the mind from suffering. In order to generate World Peace we need to learn this. These teachings have come to us directly from the god of compassion, Avalokitéshvara and Padmasambhava. The message for World Peace is to generate a compassionate mind."

bio

His Holiness often says, "I am just a simple Buddhist monk - no more, nor less." His Holiness follows the life of Buddhist monk. Living in a small cottage in Dharamsala, he rises at 4 A.M. to meditate, pursues an ongoing schedule of administrative meetings, private audiences and religious teachings and ceremonies. He concludes each day with further prayer before retiring. In explaining his greatest sources of inspiration, he often cites a favorite verse, found in the writings of the renowned eighth century Buddhist saint Shantideva:

For as long as space endures
And for as long as living beings remain,
Until then may I too abide
To dispel the misery of the world.
